What to include
- What it is — brand, model, size, colour
- Condition — be straight about wear, crashes, and repairs
- Price and your general area (city is enough)
- A photo or two and how buyers should reach you
We'll say no to listings that are misleading, aren't rider gear, or involve safety equipment that shouldn't be resold (see below).
Deal Smart
Buying used gear
- Helmets: be careful. A helmet that's been dropped or crashed can look fine and protect like it isn't — the foam crushes once. Unless you trust the seller's history of it, a used helmet is a gamble. Many riders simply don't buy them used.
- Check jacket/pant armor is present and intact — CE tags inside the pockets
- Zippers, snaps, and stitching tell you how hard a piece was used
Meeting up
- Meet somewhere public — a coffee shop, a bike night, a busy parking lot
- Cash or e-Transfer on the spot; never send deposits to hold an item
- Bring a friend if the item's expensive, and trust your gut — a weird deal is a deal worth walking away from
